Everyday we would get up as early as 4:30am, rent some e-bikes, and drive through the cold morning breeze to go to ‘our secret temple’ to catch the sunrise in Bagan. I’ve seen a lot of stunning photographs of the magical sunrise in this vast temple-dotted plains of Myanmar (there used to be around 10,000+ temples and pagodas, but now only 2000+ survived), so I am quite excited to experience and see it with my own eyes. But the weather has not been very cooperative. The day we arrived, there was a typhoon in some parts of Myanmar which resulted to an afternoon rain shower in the ancient city. The next few days were cloudy and the sun barely showed itself. But on our last morning, we decided to give it another try before we leave for Mandalay, and I’m so glad we did, because we were treated with this amazing view:
The magical sunrise over Bagan.
